This season, my number one goal is to find the perfect little black slip dress. WIth all the black and plain pieces I own, I don't have a slip dress that I am utterly in love with. I've tried many in the past, trust me, but nothing has really won me over. Maybe I'm just too picky... That and the fact that the ones I usually love are above and beyond my budget. I know we have some friends & family sales coming up (I believe they usually hit mid-end of March), so I'm doing my research early this year! A few of my favorites are below, and although not all of them are technically "slip" dresses, I'm in love with every single one.
Liv Dress // Milly Dress // Free People Slip // J.Crew Dress
That Milly dress is just gorgeous. I love the cinched waist and strappy back. It comes in an incredible blue and green color too. Although I'm not usually into bright colors, I'm really leaning towards the green one this time. Two of the dresses above are under $100, and I'm loving both. The Liv dress is so pretty and unique! Revolve always has some hidden gems on their site.
Anine Bing Dress // Alice + Olivia Dress // DVF Dress // Madewell Dress
One thing I've noticed about a lot of the black dresses this season, is all the lace that has been included in many of the styles. I LOVE a little lace trim on the bottom hem or neckline - just adds the perfect amount of sexy to the dress. This one by Aritzia is a favorite of mine, and it's even under $100! A big splurge piece would be this beauty by Givenchy. There are just no words. Alice + Olivia always has some great slip dress options too. Their Fierra dress has been around for years now. It's obviously a popular one since they keep bringing it back. Cami NYC, who makes my favorite silk cami, just launched their dress version, and I am in LOVE with it!
My number one pick, if I could have any of the slip dresses, no budget restrictions, would be a Nili Lotan (also here). They're popular and sell out fast, so they're pretty darn hard to find. I've always loved their dresses. They're simple, chic, sexy, and fit amazingly. They are the absolute perfect slip dress in my opinion. Some more of my favorites are below!
H&M Sweater Dress (old, similar here) // Worth Collection Shearling Coat (similar here & here) // Stuart Weitzman 5050 Boots (on sale here!)
I'm crossing my fingers that this will be one of the last, snow filled winter posts until next year. I did a quick trip home over the weekend to see family, get some skiing in, and just relax. Of course, every time I go home, I always raid my mother's closet and this time was no different. I tried this coat on and refused to take it off (although I didn't get to bring it back to NYC with me unfortunately). It was the perfect piece to go over this H&M sweater dress that I've admittedly had for almost 4 years now. Crazy, right!? Some closet staples just last forever, even H&M ones!
