FRIDAY FAVORITES

Dana February 28, 2014

1. Paper dresses: I'm sure you've all heard about the 4 year old fashion designer by now? It's literally gone viral in the past week. I can't get over the cuteness. I of course am now following their Instagram account, and have literally scrolled through every single picture. Can my future daughter be this cool? So obsessed.

2. This look: Probably my favorite of the 100+ blogs I follow on a daily basis. Brooklyn Blonde seriously hits the nail on the head with every. single. outfit. I swear, I would steal her style and wardrobe if I could. I love how she pairs simple, classic pieces with a pop of color or a print. I'm DYING for this jacket (how did I now know of Rick Owens before this!?!?).

3. Andie: I hate to admit it, but the Bachelor is my Monday night guilty pleasure for sure. Oh the perks of living alone and watching trashy TV... Andie has been my favorite all season, and last episode just proved how awesome she was. Who is not voting for her to be the next Bachelorette!?

4. London Fashion Week: I follow the fashion week shows as if I were there, and the top looks from this year's London Fashion week are gorgeous. I'd say my favorite is this Burberry look - they are killing it with that dress. I love getting the daily Stylelist emails with street style and fashion show favorites. They're definitely worth signing up for.

5. Kale & Mushroom Fried Rice: I love fried rice, and I love anything involving cooked kale (because I really do hate eating it raw, but try so hard to!). This looks like the most delicious, somewhat healthy recipe, and I will for sure be trying it this weekend. This month, I've made a personal goal to eat out less and make more healthy meals.... partly because I have literally not posted a recipe since this. Yes - almost 6 months. I'll make sure to let you all know how that goes.

6. 6 Mantras: I've been big on the inspiring/uplifting books and articles lately. I know, probably a little goofy, but I swear they really do help to lift your mood and get you focused on your day. Your mind is such a powerful thing. If you think positively, and always focus on the good, life is so much brighter. MindBodyGreen is one of my favorite sites by far - best mind, body, and health articles ever.

TGIF & have a great weekend!

xx

FRIDAY FAVORITES

Dana November 15, 2013

1. It's almost detox season. With all the holidays coming up, detoxes become all the rage immediately afterwards since everyone ends up weighing about 10 lbs heavier by the time Jan 1st rolls around. This 3-day winter detox sounds like the top pick this year for me. It isn't a juice cleanse, which means you won't be starving for 3 days straight. Perfection. It's gluten free, dairy free, and it reboots your digestion. Sounds like a winner to me.

2. This lovely little guy came through my inbox yesterday, and I practically drooled. Tory Burch has the coziest, softest, most dreamy gift guide this year, and I want pretty much every single piece. This tunic is the runner up to the fur snood.

3. I know, I know. I'm sure everyone already has seen the thousands of Instagram pics from last nights' Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, but since it doesn't actually air until December, I couldn't help and look for some more behind the scenes photos. Huffington Post always has the best stuff, and they didn't fail this time to publish some amazing preview photos. Go on, you know you want to look (and then probably make a gym trip immediately).

4. J.Crew never fails to make me want to buy literally everything in their catalog. How do they do that!?!? This year, their "Looks we love" holiday feature hits the nail on the head. The outfits are to die for - everything is just so cozy and festive! #2 and #5 are my favorites by far. I think I just might need to have the Crepe Boatneck Dress in bright red for the holidays this year...

5. I've been into decorating a lot lately because of the new condo, so when Rue published this article on using magazine tears for art, I thought that sounded like an awesome idea. Why didn't I think of an idea like this?  Gorgeous artwork, for less than $5 (not including the frame), means a pretty great (and super easy) DIY project to look forward to this weekend. Gallery wall here I come!

6. Did you know that apple cider vinegar helps detoxification and promotes weight loss? Well it also helps with about 5 other things I'm sure you all would be surprised by. I plan on going to buy a big jug of apple cider vinegar immediately tonight.

FRIDAY FAVORITES

Dana November 8, 2013

1. I'm loving the new

Tibi Carine Heels

 - they're killer. They are the perfect height, come in the perfect colors, and they're just plain classic. The gold color would look incredible with any holiday outfit (as long as you won't be dealing with snow like me in Buffalo...).

2.

"If you aren't willing to fight for what you believe in, then don't even enter the ring."

- This

Madonna article

is incredible. She is so utterly raw and real, it's hard not to re-read this interview over and over again. It's always fun to learn about how someone got to where they are today, their own personal road to success, but what I never realized what a hard life she lived at the beginning and what she went through to get to where she is today. Definitely worth a read.

3. This is what

New York City

could look like in 2033. Seriously cool photos... crazy how things can (or could) change over a period of just 20 years. How true do you think these really will be?

4. The truth about a

gluten-free diet

, and the facts about celiacs disease - one out of every 133 American's have celiac disease, and that doesn't even include people who have a gluten sensitivity, which is almost impossible to diagnose. I've been gluten free for quite a few months now - for a few different reasons, but I don't miss it one bit. If you're considering going this route, or just want to know more, here is an article for

6 tests for gluten intolerance

 and an article on

why you should give up gluten

. All definitely worth checking out, even if it's just for awareness.

5. I stumbled across this photo a few times on

Pinterest

, and had to find out where it came from. Enter one of my new favorite blogs,

Sofis snapshots

. The blog is entirely in Swedish, which is absolutely fine because the photos are good enough alone. She has incredible style - I'd take every single outfit on her blog. Perfection.

6. If you're new to blogging, or even have been doing so for a while, this

article

on understanding your business or blog through google analytics is extremely useful. I'm always looking for ways to improve my blog, my followers, and just overall awareness, so I always love coming across articles like this.

7. The

Career Contessa

website is something I fell upon while reading one of my favorite blogs,

Damsel in Dior

. This site is packed full of inspiring women with full, lengthy interviews about their careers, how they got to where they are today, and any helpful tips they would give their readers. For anyone trying to make it with their own business, this website is really inspirational.

8. Ever wonder how to hard boil an egg, simply cook a steak, or make the best homemade chocolate chip cookies? This

article

will be your go-to on how to cook any of the basics. I've always felt stupid when I don't know how to simply make a good pot of coffee, a baked potato, and so on, so I'm sure this will for sure be my new kitchen bible (at least until I finally DO learn the basics!).

9. Jennifer Lawrence got a

haircut

. I'm sure you all heard first thing yesterday, and if you didn't, then you live in a hole. But really, what is the big deal with celebrities and their hair? If you google Jennifer Lawrence's new haircut, the amount of articles that pop up from yesterday only, is a bit insane. Anyways, I guess

pixie cuts are in

. You all should probably go shop all your hair off now.

TGIF!

xx
